Same time, every year, rescue groups across Queensland find themselves inundated with kittens. This the first of many "rounds" that we experience.
These kittens do not ask to be born, nor do they deserve to die.At the time of writing this post, we have 30 kittens, 12 adult cats "available now" and a further 9 adults in foster care, awaiting their vet work etc. This figure will continue to escalate, it's that time of year. Can you imagine the costs involved in feeding these little ones, especially the kittens as they start to wean? Then there's the litter...oh my, do we go through that! Add in intestinal worm and flea treatments, microchips, vaccinations and desexing = big $'s. We're a small rescue group, in comparison to others, and these figures are way above our average.
We're appealing for help, please.
We are a registered charity and all voluntary donations are an allowable deduction for income tax purposes. As a volunteer based, not-for-profit organisaion, we guarantee that 100% of your donation goes directly to the animals in our care. We do not expect our foster carers to provide food or litter as we're already indebted to them. So please, think where your donation is going this year, and know that we will not waste a single cent.
If you can find it in your heart, or purse, to spare a few dollars, please go to our DONATE page where you'll find our account details OR click on the DONATE button on any of these pages. There are also Visa and MasterCard options for those without a PayPal account.
