Tyke – male turkish van x domestic medium hair adult cat
Rescue cat for adoption in Salisbury, Brisbane: Meet Tyke, one of our favourite foster cats. Not only does this handsome man have his good looks, he has personality plus. While Tyke is not your average cat, thanks to expert foster care he certainly come a long way.
Tyke is quirky. Sometimes he can be likened to a child with ADHD. He has a relatively short attention span and can become frazzled easily. But we know that in the right environment he will make a wonderful family member.
Tyke doesn’t have much fear. He is incredibly inquisitive. He loves being the welcoming committee for any guests to our house. He likes to brush past, or come by for the occasional head butt. That’s probably as cat like as Tyke gets though. He knows how to sit and loves playing fetch. In fact, he’s more dog-like than cat-like. He loves the company of people, but is not much of a lap cat or cuddler.
Tyke’s only tricky quirk can be his unpredictability. He has been known to randomly mouth people. For this reason Tyke can’t go to a home with children. His confusion about being a cat also makes him a big of a rough play mate, so would be best suited to a home without other animals. He loves the resident dog (who has the patience of a saint), but has shown he is a little too enthusiastic when interacting with the other animals.
He’s quite chatty, so just wants a home with a patient family who understand and accept his idiosyncrasies. Tyke is always making us smile; he is such a character who brings a sparkle to our lives. Yes, he’s not like most cats. But hey, but who likes ‘normal’ anyway?
