Lilah – female domestic short hair cat

Rescue cat for adoption at Wellington Point, Brisbane: Lilah is a sweet-natured lass who’s been through a lot. Someone loved her once, but somehow she ended up lost and alone, looking for a safe place to call home. Even though she’s had to fend for herself, been chased by people and dogs, and even been hit by a car, Lilah still has plenty of love to give to anyone who shows her kindness.  Her favourite place to be is curled up on a warm lap, purring, with her paws gently kneading the lucky recipient of her affection. There’s no need to pick her up for a cuddle – just sit down and she’ll be there. Too slow to scratch her? She’ll soon let you know by butting your hand with her head. Even when she wants some personal space, she’s usually to be found nearby, stretched out on the back of the couch or tucked up in her favourite hidey-hole for a nap. After the trauma of her time outside, Lilah is generally happy to stay safe and warm indoors.

Food is the key to Lilah’s heart. Her time outside has left her with some anxiety about being without food, so predictable mealtimes keep her feeling secure.

Lilah’s a quiet cat, and if she raises her voice it’s to say that something’s not right in her world. She isn’t playful – her pleasure comes from long petting sessions and feeling loved. She likes a quiet life without rapid movement or loud noises, so she is best suited to a home with adults or children aged 8+. She has a ‘live and let live’ attitude and may settle into a home with another laid-back cat or a placid dog.
